What Wivenhoe's Borough Councillors and County Councillor receive in allowances

 According to the latest information from Colchester City Council and Essex County Council,


Michelle Burrows (Colchester) receives a basic allowance of £7,293 55p plus £492 32p for serving on the Licensing Committe. Total: £7,785 87p

Andrea Luxford-Vaughan (Colchester) receives a basic allowance of £7,293 55p plus an allowance of £13,128 43p as a Cabinet member. Total: £20,421 98p

Mark Cory (Colchester) receives a basic allowance of £7,293 55p and, as a Cabinet member, a further allowance of £13,128 43p. As an Essex County Councillor, he received a basic allowance in 2021-2022 of £10,723 29p. Total: £31,145 27p.

The total of these figures is: £59,353 12p

Tax and National Insurance are both due on these allowances. In addition, the Liberal Democrat Party expects elected Councillors to donate part of their allowances to their local party organisations.
